A missing British couple has tragically been found deceased days after flash flooding struck Spain. Their family confirmed the news to the BBC.
Don Turner, 78, and his wife, Terry, 74, had not been seen since heavy downpours hit the Valencia region on Tuesday. The couple’s daughter, Ruth O’Loughlin, from Burntwood, Staffordshire, shared that her parents' bodies were discovered in their car on Saturday.
“We were told my parents were missing on Thursday, after friends checked on them and found their pets at home,” Ms. O’Loughlin stated.
The severe flooding resulted in the deaths of more than 200 people, marking it as Spain’s worst flooding disaster in generations. Rescuers are currently engaged in a desperate effort to find survivors amidst the chaos caused by the intense rainfall that began on Tuesday.
