A 13-year-old girl is currently in a “critical but stable” condition in the hospital after being discovered with multiple stab wounds alongside a busy road in East Yorkshire. Authorities reported that she was found around 06:50 GMT on Friday by the A63 in Hessle, suffering from injuries to her neck, abdomen, chest, and back.
Detective Superintendent Simon Vickers of Humberside Police, who is overseeing the investigation, indicated that those responsible for the attack were known to the victim. Six individuals have been arrested in connection with the case: four boys aged 14, 15, 16, and 17, as well as two girls aged 14 and 15. They are being held on suspicion of attempted murder near the location where the girl was found.
Det Supt Vickers stated that his team has been actively pursuing various leads over the past day to determine what led to this violent incident and to uncover the circumstances surrounding the attack on the young girl. He expressed gratitude to the members of the public who came to her assistance and those who provided information to law enforcement.
He noted that officers will be present in and around the area throughout this weekend for anyone wishing to discuss their concerns or provide additional information. Police have since lifted cordons around a wooded region near where the girl received help from bystanders.
Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information or those who may have dash cam or CCTV footage from that area to contact Humberside Police.
