MrBeast, the popular YouTuber known for his philanthropic stunts and challenges, has announced that an investigation into allegations against his former co-host, Ava Kris Tyson, found the claims to be unfounded. Tyson faced accusations of inappropriate messaging with a teenager when she was 20 years old, which led to her departure from MrBeast’s team in July. She publicly expressed remorse for her past actions but clarified that her conduct never went beyond making inappropriate jokes and firmly denied any grooming behavior.
The individual at the center of the allegations defended Tyson, labeling the accusations as blatant falsehoods and asserting that they had never been manipulated or taken advantage of. MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has amassed 325 million subscribers on his channel since its inception in 2012. Following the troubling claims made against Tyson, he expressed his disgust at the serious nature of the allegations and condemned any unacceptable behavior.
On Friday, MrBeast shared findings from a letter issued by Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP, the law firm he enlisted to investigate the matter. The letter detailed an extensive inquiry involving 39 interviews with current and former employees as well as a review of over 4.5 million documents from various communication platforms. The firm concluded that allegations of sexual misconduct involving company employees and minors were baseless and were repudiated by those allegedly involved.
The letter also stated that claims suggesting the company knowingly employed individuals with histories of illegal conduct were similarly unfounded. While some isolated incidents of workplace harassment were identified, MrBeast’s team acted promptly upon learning about these issues.
In light of the investigation’s findings, the alleged victim reiterated their stance that the accusations were entirely false and emphasized their lack of communication with anyone making these claims. They expressed frustration about their name being used in serious allegations without a chance to share their side.
Tyson responded to earlier criticisms by apologizing for her past social media conduct while maintaining that she never engaged in grooming behavior. She acknowledged her previous humor was inappropriate but emphasized her commitment to personal growth moving forward.
