Chris Ellery, a 54-year-old man from Bristol who went missing off the coast of Wales, has been located in Ireland, according to his daughter. The search for him began after he did not return from a solo boating excursion that started in Fishguard, Pembrokeshire, on a Thursday. His daughter, Kenzie, took to social media to seek assistance in finding her father and announced on Saturday that he had been discovered safe. She shared the news in a Facebook update, stating, “My dad is alive; he has been found in Ireland.”
Authorities confirmed that Mr. Ellery was found unharmed. The search efforts led by HM Coastguard resumed on Saturday and included an aircraft, multiple RNLI boat crews, two teams of coastguard personnel, and police units focusing on areas around north Pembrokeshire, Cardigan Bay, and St Brides Bay.
In another incident in Pembrokeshire, a man is currently hospitalized with serious injuries following an assault. Police reported that the 20-year-old victim sustained life-threatening injuries during the attack. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to gather more details about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Public opinion regarding local initiatives remains divided. Some community members have expressed dissatisfaction with certain schemes, with one individual labeling it as “a waste of money.” This sentiment reflects broader concerns about how resources are allocated within the community.
As the community processes these events, both the rescue of Mr. Ellery and the serious assault serve as reminders of the complexities and challenges faced by local law enforcement and emergency services in ensuring public safety and responding effectively to emergencies.
