Doubts about the manner of death

The evidence gathered by investigators raises suspicions about the hypothesis of suicide. The girl’s mother stressed that it is unlikely that a young woman like Larimar would have chosen such a violent method to take her life.

“My daughter had received death threats at school and we provided names to investigators,” her mother said in an interview. Rope marks around her feet and abdomen, along with an intact cervical vertebra and the girl’s free hands, further complicate the case. It is unusual that Larimar did not attempt to free herself from the rope, while her clean shoes raise further questions about how she reached the tree.

Ongoing investigations and possible motivations

The Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office of Caltanissetta is continuing its investigation, focusing on incitement to suicide. Investigators have seized the cell phones of eight friends and acquaintances of the victim to look for clues. It recently emerged that Larimar had argued with a classmate at school shortly before her death, with accusations related to the dissemination of intimate photos. According to some witnesses, a boy also intervened during the argument and confirmed the situation in the presence of other students. Larimar, visibly shaken by what had happened, had asked to leave the school early. As soon as she got into the car with her parents, she allegedly confided to her mother: “Something bad happened.” Unfortunately, when they returned home they found their daughter lifeless.

The family’s lawyer, Milena Ruffini, announced a defense investigation and requested a meeting with the school principal but received no response.
