An episode of violence has shaken the quiet town of Cepagatti, in the province of Pescara, where a 31-year-old nurse was arrested by the Carabinieri on charges of attempted murder. The attack took place yesterday morning and involved a 58-year-old woman, originally from Brazil, who was walking her dogs. The victim was immediately transported to the Emergency Room of the Pescara hospital, where he is currently hospitalized with a reserved prognosis, although his life is not in danger.
According to the reconstructions, the woman was in the street while looking for the keys to open the gate of her home. At that moment, the 31-year-old approached for no apparent reason and, after pushing her, hit her with a sharp object on the shoulder and neck. After the attack, the man fled. A passerby witnessed the entire episode and immediately alerted the authorities. The Carabinieri then started an investigation based on the identikit provided by the witness.
The police acquired images from the surveillance cameras of two nearby homes and were able to quickly identify the suspect. The nurse was arrested directly inside his home. During the house search, the officers seized the clothing worn by the man at the time of the attack and the object used to injure the woman.
