Investigations into a case of manslaughter in Rome

The tragic death of Margaret Spada, a 22-year-old girl from the province of Syracuse, has shocked the community and raised questions about the safety of cosmetic surgery. The NAS Carabinieri seized the medical office in Eur where the operation took place and also the medical records of the Sant’Eugenio hospital, where Margaret had been transported in critical conditions and subsequently died after four days of agony.

“An autopsy will be necessary to clarify the cause of death,” said Alessandro Vinci, a lawyer for the victim’s family. Margaret had chosen the facility after doing online research.
