The #ioleggoperché Campaign: A Hymn to Reading
The #ioleggoperché campaign confirms itself as a fundamental initiative to promote reading among young Italians. Passionately supported by various institutional figures, this initiative aims to reawaken the love for books in the new generations, offering them the opportunity to explore new ideas and cultures.
Minister Valditara’s Commitment
This afternoon, the Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara, visited the Libreria delle Ragazze e dei Ragazzi in Milan. During this visit, he donated a book to support school libraries as part of the #ioleggoperché campaign.
“I hope that all young people can discover the beauty of reading, through which extraordinary horizons open up”, declared the Minister, underlining the importance of the book as a tool for knowledge and personal enrichment.
In recent years, this campaign has brought over 3 million new books to Italian schools, a significant achievement in the national educational landscape.
The Role of the Italian Publishers Association
The president of the Italian Publishers Association (AIE), Innocenzo Cipolletta, underlined the importance of collaboration in promoting reading.
“This initiative shows how essential it is to join forces to make a difference,” Cipolletta said. He also urged citizens to visit bookstores and contribute by donating books to schools.
Until November 17, anyone can participate by going to one of the 3,939 participating bookstores throughout Italy. This action translates into great support for the 28,285 schools and 350 nursery schools involved in the campaign.
Towards a Future of Reading
The #ioleggoperché campaign represents a significant step towards a future in which reading becomes an integral part of young people’s lives. Through initiatives like this, we can hope that a new generation of readers will emerge, ready to face the challenges of the world with an open and curious mind.
In conclusion, the message is clear: every book donated is an investment in the cultural future of the country. Reading is not just a pastime; it is an open door to infinite possibilities.
