Halloween night marked a dramatic turning point for the community of Zibido San Giacomo, following the disappearance of Gino Panaiia, a 25-year-old. His body was recovered by the Carabinieri of the Binasco Station, in collaboration with the Fire Department, in the Naviglio Pavese, between Casarile (Milan) and Rognano (Pavia).
Gino was last seen spending the evening with friends at a club in Zibido, where surveillance cameras captured him leaving on a scooter. His disappearance has raised questions and concerns among residents. The discovery of his scooter on the edge of a field raised further suspicions. It had a damaged front panel, but showed no obvious signs of a serious accident. His white helmet was found 20 meters away, while a jacket and a shoe were found about 500 meters along the road to Casiglio farmhouse. In addition, the wallet was recovered, but there was no trace of the cell phone.
The investigations led to a disturbing discovery: near the farmhouse where Gino disappeared, 20 kilos of heroin were found in a bag and an additional 1,100 grams wrapped in cellophane. These elements fueled the hypothesis of a possible settling of scores, leaving room for conjectures about the young man’s possible links to drug trafficking.
Investigators are examining all available leads to shed light on this tragic incident, also taking into account information gathered from witnesses and cameras.
