Lebanon airstrikes kill 24
The death toll from Israeli airstrikes in eastern Lebanon has risen to at least 24, Lebanese news agency Ani reported, citing The Guardian.
Israel’s prime minister recently announced the dismissal of Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, a surprising move given the ongoing war. The official reason given by Netanyahu is lack of mutual trust within the government. Gallant, known for his disagreements with Netanyahu, will be replaced by Foreign Minister Israel Katz, while Gideon Sa’ar will take over as Foreign Minister.
Netanyahu explained that initially there was good cooperation between him and Gallant, but that in recent months this trust has deteriorated.
In the latest developments, at least 70 Palestinians have been killed in the last 24 hours in the Gaza Strip, according to medical sources reported by Al Jazeera. Israeli strikes have particularly targeted a residential neighborhood in Beit Lahiya, leaving at least 20 people dead, while many more remain trapped under the rubble. In addition, more deaths were reported in the central and southern areas of the Strip, where three tent camps for displaced people were attacked. The humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate rapidly.
Another tragic event is the death of American Sergeant Quandarius Davon Stanley, who was in critical condition after being wounded in non-combat situations. Stanley was engaged in operations at the American military dock off the coast of the Gaza Strip when he was seriously injured in May during humanitarian operations. Meanwhile, the Israeli Air Force intercepted a drone coming from Syria last night. In addition, two rockets and a suspicious aerial target were shot down this morning as they approached from Lebanon.
The situation in Israel and the Palestinian territories remains tense and complex. With recent internal political changes and the escalation of violence in the Gaza Strip, the future appears uncertain. The international community is watching the developments with growing concern, hoping for a peaceful resolution that can ensure stability in the region.
