“I have never requested any dossier”. This is what was declared by the vice president of the Senate, Licia Ronzulli, of Forza Italia, after being heard in Milan as a person informed of the facts regarding the investigation into the alleged network of cyber spies. The investigation is conducted by the DDA of Milan and the DNA.
Ronzulli described the situation that emerged from the investigation as “an unspeakable mess”. He stressed the need to “do something from a legislative point of view” to address this issue. After an hour of testimony, the senator said:
“I immediately asked the prosecutors if I could hear me and I thank them for doing so as quickly as possible.” He also added that the Prosecutor’s Office has already acknowledged that it never requested any dossier from Enrico Pazzali. Ronzulli insisted that the “imaginative reconstructions” circulating in the media are totally false. He clarified that he never gave Pazzali any assignment to monitor a professional, contrary to what was suggested by a wiretap.
Ronzulli continued by saying:
“This morning I told how things went, clearly explaining that I never commissioned Pazzali to carry out any checks.” Furthermore, he highlighted that if checks were carried out on this professional, this was done completely autonomously by others, without her involvement. He expressed concern about possible reasons to discredit her in the context of her candidacy for the board of directors of Fiera. The senator added: “Whoever in recent days has called me a spy or a client of Pazzali will answer for it in court.” When asked if she intended to press charges against Pazzali, Ronzulli said: “The trial must take its course." She also said she had only learned about the detective agency through the media.
Ronzulli confirmed that he knew Pazzali from the time he was CEO of Fiera Spa and never mentioned his name to him. He concluded by saying that he was not aware of the curriculum of the professional involved and hopes that the investigators will delve deeper into the matter with Pazzali.
