At the La Scala Premiere, which will take place on December 7, the opera La forza del destino by Giuseppe Verdi will be presented. On this occasion, the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella will be present, while the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will not participate.
“President Mattarella will be at La Scala and President Meloni will not be there,” declared Mayor Giuseppe Sala during the wreath-laying ceremony at the war memorial, on the occasion of November 4.
In parallel with the La Scala Premiere, the inauguration of Palazzo Citterio in Brera is also scheduled. However, this inauguration is uncertain due to the workers' strike. Sala commented: “Obviously, since it is a state museum, I cannot express an opinion and I do not have a precise idea. I spoke about it with the superintendent, to whom I said that it would be a good opportunity for Milan on the day of the Ambrogini and the premiere of La Scala, if Palazzo Citterio were also there”.
The presence of institutional figures such as President Mattarella underlines the importance of the event for the city of Milan and for Italian culture.
