Baglioni: A Gathering of Love and Music

The Event in Rome

“Your exit from us will never come out” and “Never stop transmitting”. These phrases, taken from Claudio Baglioni’s songs, resonated loud and clear during the traditional gathering of CLAB, the artist’s fan club, held at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone in Rome. Fans displayed banners and signs to express their affection and esteem for the singer-songwriter.

An Artist in Great Shape

Baglioni, who recently announced his last tour before a planned retirement from the stage, showed up in great physical and vocal shape. The closed-door event was attended by guest friends such as Lino and Rosanna Banfi, Pio and Amedeo, and Marino Bartoletti. For about four and a half hours, the singer-songwriter alternated amusing anecdotes with interpretations of lesser-known songs from his repertoire. He brought back to light pieces such as Carillon and Puoi, written in the 1970s, up to the more recent Isole del sud, a song dedicated to the drama of migration.

“In 1973 I invented social media because I was already writing ‘Follow your profile with a finger’”, Baglioni said, quoting his song E tu.

Memories and Emotions

A colorful flash mob animated the event with yellow, red and blue banners, while fans interrupted the lineup with chants and gifts. Baglioni shared emotional stories of his childhood and his parents, remembering his father Riccardo (in Patapan) and mother Silvia. He lamented: “the only Italian region in the center-south that doesn’t have the sea,” referring to Umbria. Among the songs performed, we can highlight E loro sono là, dedicated to her father at war, which received a standing ovation from the audience. Dieci dita, written for her son Giovanni, also moved the audience. The final medley included iconic songs such as QPGA, Strada facendo and an intense version of Buona fortuna. For now, Baglioni bids farewell to the public with a goodbye through the tour Piano di volo. Solo tris, which includes 300 dates in Italian theaters. The countdown for his last thousand days on stage has only just begun.
