Stabbing in schoolyard
A 12-year-old girl stabbed a classmate in the schoolyard, an event that has left the community in a state of shock. The incident occurred this morning just before 8 a.m. in a town on the outskirts of Rome.
Accident Details
The young man, hit by the twelve-year-old, was immediately taken to the hospital. Fortunately, his conditions are not serious. According to initial information, the gesture could be traced back to arguments between the two boys.
The girl used a kitchen knife, which was later recovered by the Carabinieri of the Santa Maria delle Mole station. After hitting her partner, the young woman ran away on foot.
Intervention of authorities and rescue
Immediately after the accident, the principal and school staff intervened to provide first aid to the injured boy. The injuries sustained by the young man mainly concern a hand and chest. He was transported to the Bambino Gesù pediatric hospital in Rome, where doctors confirmed that he is not in danger.
Law enforcement is currently investigating the incident to shed light on the motivations that led to this violent act between teenagers. The school has activated protocols to deal with similar situations and ensure the safety of students.
“It’s an episode that no one would have ever expected in such a peaceful context,” said a parent who was present at the time of the incident.
