King Felipe VI visited the areas affected by the recent floods in Spain, accompanied by his wife Letizia and Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. They were welcomed by the President of the Valencia Region, Carlos Mazon. With the discovery of the body of a missing woman in Letur, the death toll rises to 214, of which 210 are in the Valencia region, three in Castilla-La Mancha and one in Andalusia. The Valencia region is the most affected and continues to face critical situations, with warnings from the State Meteorological Agency signaling possible heavy storms. An orange alert is active on the north and south coast of Valencia, while a red alert has been issued in Almería for rainfall that could reach 60 liters in an hour.

Today, the king and the prime minister will visit the devastated areas, where an additional 5,000 soldiers have been sent, bringing the total number of soldiers involved in rescue operations and searching for missing people to 7,500. They are joined by 5,000 police and civil guards. Authorities reported that electricity has been restored to 94% of homes, but some 7,000 people are still without power and many more without drinking water.

Five days after the floods, hopes of finding survivors among the missing are diminishing. Operations are focusing on shopping center parking lots and homes cut off by mud. There are fears that dozens of people may be trapped in the parking lot of the Bonair shopping center in Aldaia, where firefighters and the military are working to search for survivors in submerged cars.

At least twenty people were reportedly stranded in their cars in the parking lot of the Consum supermarket in Benetusser. After two days, the military began removing water and mud to access the area. Diving units entered the area to inspect parked cars and possibly recover victims.

The Interior Minister clarified that there are no official estimates of the missing; the high numbers are mainly due to calls from relatives worried about their loved ones. The priority remains to find survivors and restore damaged infrastructure.

Local authorities have restricted access to the affected areas for emergency vehicles and residents to ensure safety during emergency operations. A warning has been issued to the population regarding the safety of drinking water and food due to possible contamination, highlighting risks related to infections from pathogens present in such situations.
