Missing Couple Returns Home After Wedding, What Happened
Pietro Montanino and Maria Zaccaria, the couple who disappeared a few days after their wedding, returned today to their home in Cesa, in the province of Caserta.
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested for the murder of Santo Romano, a 19-year-old youth killed in San Sebastiano al Vesuvio. During the night between Friday and Saturday, the minor initially attempted to deny his responsibility, but later admitted to having shot.
The investigations conducted by the Carabinieri led to the identification of the alleged culprit through video surveillance images. These shots show a minicar moving away shortly after the shots. Furthermore, the testimonies collected were fundamental:
“The witness statements all agree in indicating him as the author of the shots.”
Some witnesses claim to have seen him at the crime scene, while others say that the minor initially walked away and then returned to the square on board the minicar.
The 17-year-old’s confession occurred during questioning by the magistrate of the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office of Naples. It emerged that the minicar used had already been stopped the evening before for a check. During this intervention, the officers had verified that the driver was the minor, known to the police for a criminal record and recently released from the juvenile prison of Nisida.
The situation remains delicate and continues to evolve as authorities investigate further to shed light on what happened that dramatic night.
