Kamala Harris has overtaken Donald Trump in Iowa, according to the latest poll from a state both candidates seemed to already consider a Republican sweep. The vice president has garnered 47 percent of the vote, while Trump has 44 percent, according to the Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa poll. Jason Miller, a senior adviser to Trump’s campaign, said that “every election cycle produces a weird poll,” in response to a question from CNN. Trump’s campaign released a statement calling the poll “a glaring anomaly” and saying another poll released the same day by Emerson College more accurately represents Iowa’s electorate. Trump pointed to high turnout at a previous rally in Iowa, attempting to downplay the poll’s results, at a rally in Greensboro, North Carolina.
