Iran vows revenge against Israel after October 26 attack
Iran has announced that Israel’s Oct. 26 attack will “definitely” be avenged, with a response that will be “overwhelming,” Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said.
The Israeli Air Force has eliminated two Hezbollah commanders in the Khiam region of Lebanon. Farouk Amin Alasi was responsible for several rocket attacks against Israeli communities in the Galilee, while Yousef Ahmad Nun was leading similar operations. This information was released by the Israeli military through a post on Telegram.
Meanwhile, UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell condemned Friday’s attacks in northern Gaza, which according to local sources have killed more than 50 children. Russell said the weekend was particularly tragic, with the devastating impact of bombings that destroyed residential buildings in Jabalia, putting the lives of the population, especially the young, at risk.
In a separate incident, a drone struck the car of a UNICEF staff member in Jabalia. Fortunately, the person involved was not injured, but the incident left deep scars. Russell also noted an earlier attack on a polio vaccination site in Sheikh Radwan that left several children injured. She stressed that these indiscriminate attacks on civilians and humanitarian facilities highlight the gravity of the situation in Gaza and the urgency of ending the attacks.
In addition to these events, news has come of the deployment of American B-52 bombers to the Middle East. The US military has confirmed the arrival of strategic aircraft in the area of responsibility of the US Central Command. This move comes after Washington announced the dispatch of additional forces to the region to counter potential threats from Iran. The Pentagon spokesman warned that the United States will take all necessary measures to protect its personnel and American interests in the event of attacks by Iran or its allies.
The situation remains tense and complex in the region, with events unfolding rapidly and growing concern for the safety of populations affected by the conflict.
