Crash and Red Flag at Brazilian Grand Prix

Nearly halfway through the race, the red flag is shown for the accident of Franco Colapinto in the Williams, who spins due to the incessant rain. After 32 laps of 69, the race stops with Alpine’s Esteban Ocon in the lead, followed by Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, with McLaren’s Lando Norris in fourth and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc seventh.

Departure and Initial Developments

The Brazilian Grand Prix got underway after a 10-minute delay caused by Lance Stroll’s Aston Martin spinning. On a wet track, George Russell’s Mercedes took the lead, followed by Norris' McLaren. Charles Leclerc moved up a position while Verstappen made a rapid move from 17th to 11th at the green light. It is important to note that Norris is under investigation for moving during the first formation lap when the start was stopped.

Qualifying and Pole Position

Lando Norris took pole position for the Brazilian Grand Prix with a remarkable time of 1:23.405, pipping Mercedes’ George Russell and Racing Bulls’ Yuki Tsunoda. Charles Leclerc was sixth, with qualifying taking place in difficult conditions at Interlagos with heavy rain causing several interruptions. Due to the adverse weather conditions, the start of the race was brought forward to 16:30 Italian time instead of 18:00. During the weekend, several red flags were shown due to accidents involving drivers such as Carlos Sainz, Lance Stroll, Fernando Alonso and Alex Albon, fortunately without serious consequences.

Pilots Situation

Max Verstappen, due to the red flag for Stroll’s accident and a penalty for not respecting the Delta Time, will start from 17th place. Carlos Sainz, also involved in an accident, will have to come back from 14th place. Also at the back is Lewis Hamilton, who will start 16th. The Brazilian Grand Prix promises strong emotions and twists until the end!
