In Campania, anxiety is growing over the disappearance of a couple, Pietro Montanino and Maria Zaccaria, residents of Cesa, in the Caserta area. The two, recently married, disappeared a few days after their wedding. According to the Carabinieri who received the report of their disappearance, the couple had taken their children to their grandparents and had not been heard from since October 29. They had been seen going to Frattamaggiore, in the Naples area, with the intention of looking for a new home.

The mayor of Frattamaggiore, Marco Antonio Del Prete, launched an appeal to local citizens: “I am addressing you with great concern. Pietro and Maria have disappeared and we are all alarmed. I ask you to help us spread this news to increase the chances of finding them. If anyone has useful information or sightings to report, contact the authorities. Every small contribution can be fundamental. Thank you for your support!”

Don Maurizio Patriciello, parish priest of Parco Verde in Caivano, also invited the community to take action: “Let’s do everything we can so that they can return home. Let’s spread this news. May the Lord bless us.”

Pietro’s sister, Silvana Montanino, expressed her grief on Facebook: “My brother and sister-in-law had no problems or reasons to be sad. They are lively people and always ready to joke.” She then denied some news circulating in the media about an alleged unforeseen event: “It is false that they warned us of something. We did not receive any calls or communications about any difficulties. Their routine was normal; I had gone to pick up my nephew from football school.”

The situation is very delicate and the family hopes for a quick recovery of the couple. The authorities continue the investigations and appeal to the population so that anyone who may have useful information comes forward. The entire community is united in the hope of seeing Pietro and Maria safe and sound again soon.
