Khamenei Warns Iran Will Respond Harshly to New Attacks

Iranian leader Khamenei has warned that Iran and its allied groups will respond decisively to any attack against them. Speaking to students in Tehran, he said: “The enemies, be it the Zionist regime or the United States, will receive a crushing response for their actions against Iran and the Iranian nation.” Khamenei mentioned an alliance between Tehran-backed militant groups, including Yemen’s Houthis, Hezbollah and Hamas, but did not elaborate on the timing or intensity of a possible response.

In recent days, drones from Lebanon have struck northern Israel, setting off sirens in the Haifa area. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that they shot down one of the drones and suffered an attack that damaged an industrial building near Nahariya, with no injuries reported. Videos circulating on social media show the drones involved and the damage they caused.

In another incident, five Palestinians were killed and several others injured when Israeli shelling hit a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. Another report said that Israeli artillery struck a house belonging to the Samman family in the Jabalya refugee camp.

Hezbollah said it fired rockets at an Israeli military intelligence base near Tel Aviv in the early hours of the morning. According to their statement, they carried out an attack on Unit 8200’s Glilot base at approximately 2:30 a.m.

Health authorities reported that the number of injured in Tira, an Israeli city hit by Lebanese rockets, has risen to 19. Of those, four are in stable condition and have been taken to local hospitals. Warning sirens had earlier warned of the presence of about 15 rockets from Lebanon; some were intercepted while others fell in unpopulated areas.

A United Nations report recently described the Houthi rebels as a “powerful military organization,” thanks to the external support they receive, mainly from Iran and Hezbollah. Since the conflict in Gaza began last year, the Houthis have increased their cooperation with resistance axis groups and expanded their operational capabilities.

According to Hamas-run reports from Gaza, at least 84 people have been killed in Israeli raids in the past 24 hours, with many children among the victims and dozens missing or injured. International media also reported damage and injuries in several Israeli cities hit by rockets from Lebanon.
