Serie A: Udinese-Juventus 0-2
For Juventus, October was a particularly difficult month. The start was marked by Bremer’s injury during the match against Leipzig and ended with six goals conceded in two matches against Inter and Parma. Now, the Bianconeri club wants to turn the page, taking advantage of its birthday: the club was founded on November 1, 1897 and the team is aiming to give itself a gift.
Juventus coach Thiago Motta expressed his satisfaction at being part of the club’s history: “I am happy and honored to be part of this great club, I wish Juve all the best both today and for the future”. Numerous messages of good wishes arrived on social media. Bremer wrote: “127 years of history. 127 years of great love. And still more to live… Happy Birthday Old Lady”. Perin also shared a post on Instagram, underlining that “Juventus is a state of mind”.
Meanwhile, the club has presented a new project called Extreme Fields, dedicated to offering fans unique experiences in the most fascinating football fields in the world. The Bianconeri players will be on the pitch at the Bluenergy Stadium and will have to restart from the match against Udinese, after slipping to sixth place in the standings on matchday ten.
Motta said on the eve of the match: “We have to improve to climb the standings. We go to Friuli with determination to provide a great performance”. Regarding the fight for the title, he responded to Milan’s Paulo Fonseca: “It is clear that discussions about the Scudetto do not end at the end of October. We have to improve every day to become more competitive”.
The coach stressed the importance of returning to being a solid team, capable of conceding few shots to the opponents. He said: “We must be more compact and aggressive to limit the spaces for the opponents”. Furthermore, there could be the option of resting Vlahovic: “We will also evaluate the situation during the last training session”.
Motta is considering several alternatives in attack, such as Yildiz or Weah, but he could also start with Vlahovic and then replace him in the second half. Finally, Koopmeiners' recovery after his return against Parma is being monitored. The absences of Nico Gonzalez and Douglas Luiz are confirmed; both will continue their treatment before the Champions League trip to Lille scheduled for Tuesday.
