Juventus earned a convincing 2-0 win in Udine, capitalising on the only two real chances they created in the first half, a remarkable result for such a young team. Seven of the starters belong to Generation Z, with the most experienced being goalkeeper Di Gregorio, who is 27. Udinese still seemed to be affected by their previous match against Venezia, starting the game with little determination, a fatal mistake against a solid opponent. Coach Runjaic deployed captain Thauvin to support Davis, relegating Lucca to the bench. Thiago Motta, on the other hand, counted on the returning Koopmeiners to support Vlahovic alongside the talented Yildiz and Weah.

The first real opportunity of the match fell to Thuram in the seventh minute: alone in front of goal, he kicked high after an impeccable assist from Savona. The visitors dominated possession in the first twenty minutes until Thuram found the way to goal, easily beating Ehizibue and unleashing a diagonal shot that hit the post and went in after touching Okoye. Only a minute later, Di Gregorio made a decisive save on Davis, who had found space on the right and was about to score. Udinese’s reaction was limited; the Bianconeri continued to weave their network of passes and in the 38th minute they found the double with Savona: Thauvin lost the ball in midfield and Yildiz started a counterattack on the left. The Turk hit the post but Savona was ready to tap it in while the opposing defense remained immobile. Runjaic tried to shake up his team by replacing Kabasele and Lovric with Ebosse and Zarraga.

The match could have changed in the seventh minute of the second half when Gatti and Di Gregorio made a mistake in coming out, allowing Davis to score into an empty net: referee Abisso disallowed the goal for a foul on the goalkeeper. Udinese did not react and a change was made in attack with Lucca coming on for Thauvin. Thiago Motta also made some substitutions, bringing on Conceicao and McKennie for Thuram and Vlahovic, moving Yildiz to centre forward. Udinese tried to react, winning five consecutive corners but were unable to capitalise thanks to Di Gregorio’s exits and imprecise aim. Thiago Motta responded by reinforcing the defence with Cabal and Danilo. In the 38th minute, Lucca hit the crossbar with a header, while Koopmeiners missed the chance to close the match in the final minutes, being blocked by Okoye on the counterattack.
