The Revenue Agency has issued a provision to extend the deadlines due to a malfunction of the F24 telematic system, managed by Sogei. This problem occurred from 12:48 on October 29, 2024 until 9:56 the following day. In the official communication, the Agency recalls that the law provides that, in situations of this type, “the terms of prescription and forfeiture, as well as those relating to the fulfillment of obligations and formalities provided for by the laws on taxes and duties, which expire during the period of malfunction or irregularity, are extended until the tenth day after the publication of the provision regarding the malfunction”. This means that taxpayers will have more time available to fulfill their tax obligations without incurring penalties. The Agency’s decision aims to ensure fairness and allow citizens to meet tax deadlines even following unforeseen technical problems. It is important for anyone using the F24 System to keep this information in mind and plan accordingly to avoid delays in tax payments.
