The recent investigations in Milan, together with others that have highlighted illicit practices related to dossier collection, raise questions about the seriousness of the behavior of those who can exploit illegally obtained data. This data is not only used for profit, but also to target political opponents, undermining the foundations of democracy. This was the observation of the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, during question time in the Senate. Furthermore, Piantedosi underlined that the prevention and reaction measures against cyber threats by the Postal Police have been expanded. Specific territorial operational units have been created, coordinated by the Cnaipc, which have managed over 25 thousand significant cyber attacks between 2022 and 2023. In the first eight months of 2024, these units have faced more than eight thousand attacks. A section of the Strategic Anti-Terrorism Analysis Committee has also been established dedicated exclusively to the cyber threat. These initiatives aim to strengthen the ability to respond to digital challenges in the context of national security.
