Sustainability is not only an environmental challenge, but also a communicative and perceptive one. The central question is: how should a communication on sustainability be structured so that it can really influence the culture and behavior of citizens? The project “Communicating sustainability well” aims to answer this question, on the occasion of the 2024 edition of the National Constructive Communication Award. The event will take place on Tuesday 29 October at 5:30 pm at the Teatro Filodrammatici in Milan.
This year, the award includes several categories to recognize specific merits. Among the winners will be communicators who have distinguished themselves in the dissemination of sustainability, a special lifetime achievement award dedicated to Vita for his thirty-year commitment, and companies that have adopted innovative and communicative practices in the field of sustainability, such as BrianzAcque, HPE, INWIT, IBM Foundation, Hitachi Rail, Vibram and Bolton Food. Some institutions that have placed sustainability communication at the center of their policies will also be recognized.
The meeting will feature speeches by prominent figures such as Enrico Giovannini, former Minister and co-founder of the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development; Ilaria Capua, global health expert at John Hopkins University; Stefano Epifani, president of the Foundation for Digital Sustainability; Tessa Gelisio, presenter and agricultural entrepreneur; Cristiana Rogate, consultant in the field of sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility; Mauro Bellini, director of esg360.it; Bruno Calchera, editor of CSROggi; Elisabetta Soglio of Corriere della Sera; and Antonello Barone of the “Festival del sarà”.
The event will begin with greetings from local authorities and will continue with Lorenzo Pregliasco of Youtrend Strategies who will present an exclusive survey conducted by the Pensiero Solido Foundation in collaboration with Youtrend Strategies, entitled “Italians and sustainability communication”.
The winners will be awarded the Vaia Cube, symbol of the National Constructive Communication Award. This design object is a wooden amplifier for smartphones made with wood recovered from trees felled by the Vaia storm in 2019, thus representing an example of circular economy and rebirth. Federico Stefani, co-founder and CEO of Vaia, will talk about it during the event. The event will be visible in streaming on various online platforms and will have the media support of Brunswick Italia.
