“Confidential documents of Eni Spa” have emerged in the Milan offices of Equalize, the investigative company at the center of the investigations conducted by the Dda and the DNA on an alleged network of cyber-spies. This led to the house arrest of its CEO, Carmine Gallo, a former police inspector, and also involved the owner Enrico Pazzali, president of the Fiera Foundation, who suspended himself. The documents found show the presence of an authentic “police archive” inside the company’s premises, containing “numerous” documents regarding Paolo Simeone, a well-known Italian YouTuber and contractor, as well as several confidential documents of the oil company.

The Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office is conducting an investigation into unauthorized access to a computer system, violations of privacy and unauthorized practice of a profession. The case involves a group accused of illegal activities of dossier-building and unauthorized data collection. This investigation is parallel to the one launched in Milan under the supervision of the National Anti-Mafia Prosecutor’s Office. It is understood that the investigations in the capital began last spring and were entrusted to the Postal Police. The group known as ‘Squadra Fiore’ includes former members of the police force and operated out of an apartment in the northeast of Rome, also working for foreign clients.

In February 2023, Vincenzo De Marzio, a former Carabiniere involved in the investigation into illegal dossiers, allegedly met with Nunzio Calamucci, currently under house arrest for hacking, two unidentified men who are said to be linked to the Israeli secret services. This information comes from a detailed report by the Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of Varese, which also reconstructs the presence of individuals with ties to Israeli intelligence in the offices of Via Pattari, headquarters of Equalize.
