The Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into a group accused of illegitimate access to computer systems, violations of privacy and unlawful practice of the profession. The investigation concerns dossier-building and illicit data collection. There are currently no suspects, but the proceedings are being developed in parallel with the one already started in Milan, coordinated by the National Anti-Mafia Prosecutor’s Office. Available information indicates that investigations in the capital began last spring, as reported by the website Today.it. The group involved, known as ‘Squadra Fiore’, is also said to be composed of former members of the police force and operates from an apartment located in the north-east of Rome, also collaborating with foreign clients.
