There are eleven Italian hospitals that stand out for their excellence, located mainly in the Center-North of the country. Of these, four are in Lombardy, while one is located in each of the following regions: Tuscany, Marche, Veneto, Piedmont, Abruzzo, Emilia-Romagna and Sicily. These results emerge from an analysis conducted by technicians from the National Agency for Regional Health Services (Agenas) and reported by ANSA.

The report highlights healthcare facilities that achieved top scores in all clinical areas examined. Prominent hospitals include Careggi University Hospital in Florence, Humanitas Clinical Institute in Rozzano (Milan), Umberto I Lancisi Hospital in Ancona, Maggiore Hospital in Lodi, Mater Domini Nursing Home in Castellanza (Varese), Borgo Roma Hospital in Verona, Gradenigo Health Center in Turin, Humanitas Gavazzeni in Bergamo, Villa Serena Nursing Home in Città Sant’Angelo (Pescara), Bellaria Hospital in Bologna, and Orestano Nursing Home in Palermo.

The analysis conducted by Agenas took into consideration the performance of both public and private hospitals in eight main clinical areas: cardiocirculatory, nervous, respiratory, general surgery, oncological surgery, nephrology, pregnancy and childbirth, and musculoskeletal. Only a limited number of hospitals achieved excellent scores in all these categories. The first eleven hospitals included in the report are those that stood out for their excellence in at least four clinical areas.

This assessment represents an important tool to ensure transparency and information to citizens regarding the quality of healthcare services offered in the country. The presence of healthcare facilities that optimize their performance in multiple disciplines is essential for the well-being of the population and to strengthen trust in the national healthcare system. The continuous pursuit of excellence by Italian hospitals is a primary objective that contributes to improving the care and treatments available to all patients.
