Bologna achieved an important victory on the Cagliari pitch, winning 2-0. The game broke the deadlock in the 35th minute when Moro, after winning a midfield tackle, passed the ball to Ndoye. The latter, noticing Castro’s run, served him with a clever pass. Castro made a dummy pass that allowed the ball to reach Orsolini. The Emilian striker did not hesitate and, instead of cutting back to his left foot, he fired decisively with his right foot towards the near post, surprising goalkeeper Scuffet and giving Bologna the lead.
In the second half, in the 51st minute, Bologna doubled their lead. Lucumì, freed on the left flank, made a low pass backwards to Odgaard, who was in an excellent position. The Danish striker didn’t think twice and with a powerful shot managed to score his second goal of the season, once again beating Scuffet at his post.
The rossoblù team showed a good game and was able to take advantage of the opportunities created, maintaining control of the match and managing the phases of the game well. Cagliari struggled to create significant dangers for the opposing defense and was unable to capitalize on the few opportunities they had. This victory represents an important step forward for Bologna in the race towards more ambitious goals in the championship.
With this performance, Bologna shows that they have a competitive squad and a good understanding between the players, key factors to best face the upcoming challenges. The team will have to continue on this path if they want to aspire to higher positions in the standings. Cagliari will have to reflect on their performances and look for solutions to improve in the upcoming matches, in order to return to obtaining positive results. The challenge is open and both teams will need to work hard to achieve their respective seasonal objectives.
