The District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Milan has filed an appeal with the Review Court to request the issuance of thirteen precautionary custody orders in prison against as many suspects, including Carmine Gallo and Nunzio Samuele Calamucci, currently under house arrest by order of the judge for preliminary investigations. Among the others involved is Enrico Pazzali, owner of Equalize and president of the Fondazione Fiera Milano, whose company is at the center of the investigation into the alleged illicit dossiers. Judge Fabrizio Filice has ordered only four house arrest measures and two interdictory measures without applying precautionary measures against Pazzali.

Copasir has requested access to the documents of the Milan investigation regarding the dossiers, taking into account the secrecy of the investigation. From the information that has emerged so far, it appears that the suspects have obtained documentation from the intelligence and enjoy “high-level support”, including references to national and foreign secret services. The Committee intends to deepen the links with the secret services, similar to what was done in the past in the Perugia investigation regarding unauthorized access to databases by the financier Pasquale Striano.

According to estimates by the Milan DDA, there are over 800,000 people potentially spied on through abusive access to databases. Calamucci allegedly claimed to have “at his disposal” a hard disk containing information on eight hundred thousand subjects from the police database.

Furthermore, during the investigations, the paper archive of Carmine Gallo, a former policeman, was seized, which was hidden in a garage. This archive was also mentioned in the wiretaps carried out during the investigation.

The investigation also led to the seizure of a server located in Lithuania. This operation was ordered by the public prosecutor Francesco De Tommasi, in collaboration with the deputy Alessandra Dolci and the prosecutor Marcello Viola. The seizure follows the arrests that took place last Friday, including that of the former police officer Gallo. The prosecutor’s office is also evaluating the possibility of an international rogatory in England, where a hacker network led by a woman has emerged.

Regarding the investigation into Equalize srl, Dr. Carla Romana Raineri declared through her lawyer Nicola Menardo that she was not involved in the illicit activities to which she was associated.

Alleged dossiers on Russian citizens also emerge in the context of the investigations conducted by the Milan DDA on the gang of cyber-spies. Calamucci spoke in wiretaps of a “report” on a well-known Russian oligarch; prosecutors tried to identify this person by mentioning events related to Russian-Kazakh citizens involved in the construction of a hotel in Cortina d’Ampezzo and the management of exclusive resorts. It emerged that there were unauthorized accesses regarding Vladimir Tsyganov and Oxana Bond
