This afternoon, there was an important development in the story surrounding the death of Aurora, the 13-year-old girl, which occurred on October 25. The Carabinieri of the Piacenza investigative unit, following the indications of the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office of Bologna, arrested the 15-year-old boyfriend, who is being investigated for murder. This intervention occurred while the first autopsies were underway on the body of the young woman, who lost her life after falling from a balcony on the eighth floor of a building.

The boyfriend was present at the time of the tragedy and initially stated that Aurora had fallen alone. However, new elements or behaviors on his part may have emerged that have pushed the investigators to request the restrictive measure. Aurora’s family had already expressed the desire for a similar intervention and through the lawyer Lorenza Dordoni had announced the preparation of a memorandum to support the investigations. This memorandum will include testimonies from friends and various communications, as well as medical reports that can better clarify the dynamics of the relationship between the two young people.

Aurora’s older sister said her boyfriend was obsessed with her and the family does not accept the idea that it was a suicide or an accidental fall. Lawyer Dordoni also mentioned the existence of medical certificates that will be examined by the prosecutor to formulate any charges. There are reports of worrying incidents that occurred in the days before the death and reports made by the girl to social services regarding her difficulty in ending the relationship.

During the morning, the Prosecutor’s Office assigned the medical examiner Giovanni Cecchetto of the Pavia institute to perform the autopsy on Aurora’s body. The assignment includes a series of specific questions and the possibility of involving other specialists if necessary. The family also appointed its own technical consultant, as did the lawyer of the suspect.

The autopsy will be crucial to clarify whether there were signs of a fight or aggression on Aurora’s body and could provide essential information on the scene of the accident, known only to the two involved: Aurora herself and her boyfriend under investigation. In the meantime, commemorative moments were held at school in memory of the young girl: flowers, candles and messages were left by her classmates at her desk during a minute of silence observed throughout the school.
