Sainz wins the Mexican Grand Prix, ahead of Norris and Leclerc. The race resumed regularly on lap seven, after the intervention of the safety car. Verstappen was in the lead with his Red Bull, followed by Sainz driving the Ferrari, Norris with the McLaren and the other Ferrari of Leclerc. Immediately after the start, a contact at the back brought out the safety car: Albon and Tsunoda touched, with the latter being closed by the Alpine car of Gasly. At the start, Verstappen passed Sainz, who had won the pole position, thus taking the lead of the race.
