“This race is too close for my taste.” Michelle Obama speaks in Kalamazoo, Michigan, alongside Kamala Harris, sparking enthusiasm from the audience. The former First Lady addresses in particular men who are hesitant to vote for the vice president, urging: “When you go to vote, decide which side you are on. A vote for Donald Trump is a vote against women’s health care.”

Criticizing the double standard that characterizes the judgments on Harris, Michelle Obama - much appreciated by the Democrats but so far little present in the electoral campaign - highlights how they expect from her “intelligence and eloquence, a series of clear policies and a behavior always measured”, while from Trump they expect nothing: “An incompetent liar”, she defines him, also quoting the words of his former chief of staff who compared him to a fascist. There is therefore no expectation regarding his honesty or morality.

“We need someone mature in the White House,” she added to the applause of the audience, recalling the famous “do something” with which she had ignited spirits during the Democratic convention. Michelle then introduced Harris, who arrived in Michigan after a stop in Texas where she received the support of Beyoncé. The superstar declared: “It’s time to sing a new song for America”, while on stage she hugged Harris and urged everyone to vote against Trump and his ban on abortion.

Beyoncé stressed that she was not there as a celebrity or politician, but as a mother concerned about future generations: “We want a world where we can control our bodies.” For Harris, the famous artist’s support represents an important opportunity to give her campaign a boost ahead of Election Day.

Trump is also trying to regain ground. He participated in a three-hour interview with Joe Rogan, in which he reiterated the existence of “enemies within,” his political opponents whom he considers more dangerous than Kim Jong Un, with whom he claims to have had cordial relations. Answering Rogan about what his biggest mistake was in his first term, Trump did not hesitate: choosing infidels. He acknowledged that some of his choices were good while others were not.

The tycoon also mentioned the idea of abolishing the federal income tax and suggested a return to the economic policies of the early twentieth century. During the interview he did not hold back even on more unusual topics such as extraterrestrial life, stating that there are no reasons to rule out life on Mars.

The conquest of the red planet is also the obsession of his ally Elon Musk. On Sunday they will both be at Madison Square Garden in New York together with the vice-presidential candidate JD Vance. In the meantime, the phones of Vance and Trump have been the object of interest by Chinese hackers who have managed to access some sensitive data; however, it is not clear what information has been compromised. The communications contained in the devices of the candidates could prove extremely valuable.
