The IDF said that over the past 24 hours, approximately 40 militants were killed in operations in the Jabaliya camp in northern Gaza. Meanwhile, Iranian Ambassador to the United Nations Saeed Iravani sent letters to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the Security Council presidency on Saturday evening. In his letters, he urged the UN to strongly condemn the attack by the separatist group Jaish al-Adl in Taftan, in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan. The attack led to the death of ten border police officers. Iravani said Iran strongly condemns this terrorist act and is committed to ensuring that those responsible are brought to justice.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also wrote to the UN Secretary General and the Presidency of the Security Council to strongly condemn the Israeli attacks on Iran. He warned that Tehran reserves the right to respond legitimately to the Israeli aggression. Araghchi urged the UN to take a clear stand against the violations committed by Israel so that the international community takes note of the gravity of the situation.
President Masoud Pezeshkian said that Iran’s enemies should be aware that the nation is ready to defend its territory with determination and wisdom. The comments came in the wake of Israeli attacks on Iran and the commemoration of the four Iranian soldiers killed in those attacks. Pezeshkian also expressed his condolences over the loss of ten police officers in the attack by the separatist group Jaish al-Adl.
In Lebanon, Ani agency reports an Israeli raid in southern Beirut, a Hezbollah stronghold. Before the attack, Israeli forces had called on residents of two neighborhoods in the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital to evacuate their homes because there were facilities linked to Hezbollah there.
