One of the boys from a group that was in Monte Arcosu, a WWF area located in the south of Sardinia, is currently missing. Search operations are underway by the fire brigade, who are using both helicopters and ground teams. According to initial information, a group of eight people were crossing the area during the night when a violent storm hit the region. The boys were on their way to dinner with friends and had split up into several cars. While trying to cross a ford, one of the cars was pushed off the road by the force of the current. The other members of the group managed to find shelter and call for help. Thanks to the intervention of the fire brigade helicopters, everyone was saved, except one.

In southern Sardinia, bad weather brought heavy rains at night that caused flooding and numerous interventions by firefighters, especially in the areas of Siliqua and Iglesias. Capoterra also encountered some difficulties: the Municipality decided to postpone an important celebration scheduled for today. Civil protection and firefighters worked tirelessly throughout the night to contain the inconvenience and support local citizens. In Vallermosa, a weather station recorded almost 250 millimeters of rain in just a few hours.

In Ponti, in the province of Alessandria, eight families remained isolated in the Carmenna area due to the flooding of the streets caused by recent rainfall. The families remained in telephone contact with the municipality to receive assistance. The flooding of the Bormida river, also in Ponti, was also reported, which flooded the local sports field.

The situation is no better on the A6 Turin-Savona motorway, which has been closed since last night due to a landslide that blocked the roadway at Altare (Savona). Technicians are working to remove the mass of earth and mud that fell due to the heavy rains of the last few days; the concessionaire Autostrada dei Fiori expects the road to reopen around 12 noon. No vehicles were reported to be involved in the accident. The landslide was caused by land not under the jurisdiction of the concessionaire; during the slide down the valley it impacted the northbound carriageway of the A6 motorway at kilometre 108+100, immediately after the Altare exit. Around 300 cubic metres of earth invaded the road area. The concessionaire promptly activated emergency services by sending specialised teams with excavators and other operational vehicles to clear the road and also technicians to assess the geological aspects related to the landslide.

Flooding has been reported along the Po River in the centre of Turin as a result of recent rains. In particular, in the area of the Molinette hospital, waters have invaded a pedestrian walkway, making it necessary to close the Murazzi del Po as a precaution
