In Bolzano, a 14-year-old girl was approached and sexually assaulted by an unknown man near a bus stop on Friday evening. The incident, as reported by the Alto Adige newspaper, occurred shortly before 8 p.m., while the young woman was waiting for the bus in the Casanova neighborhood. Sitting under the shelter, the girl was approached by a man of about 40, originally from Pakistan and living in Bolzano, who asked her for directions.
When the man began to be insistent, the girl tried to move away. However, she was blocked and dragged behind a bush, where the violence took place. Only after about fifteen minutes did she manage to escape and approach a passerby who immediately contacted the emergency number 112. Shortly thereafter, the police tracked down and arrested the attacker nearby.
The following day, the preliminary investigations judge decided to keep the man in custody in prison due to the risk that he might repeat the crime. On Instagram, Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini commented on the incident with a provocative phrase regarding the presence of the foreign attacker in Italy.
This case highlights sensitive issues related to public safety and social dynamics in the current context. The local community is reacting with concern and indignation to the episode of violence suffered by the young girl. It is essential that the competent authorities treat similar situations with the utmost seriousness to ensure protection and justice for the victims of such crimes.
