A notice of conclusion of the investigation for attempted extortion has been issued by the Agrigento Public Prosecutor’s Office against Alessio Quaranta, general director of ENAC, in the context of an investigation relating to the Lampedusa airport. In total, 12 people are involved in the proceedings, which also include alleged attempts to exert pressure on Gaetano Tafuri and Giovanni Amico, respectively president and director of the airport at the time of the events. The pressure was allegedly aimed at “unduly sub-ceding the management of the fuel depot at the Lampedusa airport to Giacomo Cusumano”. The injured parties include Tafuri, Amico, Ast aeroservizi, the Sicilian Region and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
