Carlos Sainz took pole position for Ferrari in the Mexican Grand Prix, followed by Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and McLaren’s Lando Norris. Sainz’s teammate Charles Leclerc was fourth fastest.
“I am very satisfied. I have done some really good laps. My laps were almost flawless. I usually cannot achieve similar results in Mexico, as the track is quite slippery. With Ferrari we have made progress compared to Austin, also in qualifying. We are on the right path. Now we are preparing for tomorrow. For the moment I am enjoying this pole,” said Carlos Sainz after taking first place on the starting grid of the Mexican GP.
“For sure our main objective is to get both cars to the finish line. Of course, if we win, those extra points are crucial for the constructors' championship. Hopefully we can confirm our pace in the race,” added the Spaniard, who achieved the sixth pole position success of his Formula 1 career.
